Programme

Partial programme of the fourth edition of the Prangins Baroque Festival (3-10.09.2023). The complete programme will be available in June 2023. For this 4th edition, the new permanent exhibition Ovid in the Jura presented at the Swiss National Museum in Prangins has greatly inspired us, with one myth in particular: the story of Apollo and Daphne, taken from the great poem The Metamorphoses of Ovid. The themes it evokes are still relevant today - domination and violence, mockery and harassment, consent in love - and have prompted us to dedicate this edition of Prangins Baroque to it.

A show for all audiences, created for Prangins Baroque. A contemporary setting of the myth of Apollo and Daphne, created with the schoolchildren of Prangins and Nyon and supported by the members of our artistic team. The performance lasts about 30 minutes, followed by an exchange with the audience after the show.

Les Jardins d'Illusions
A performance inspired by the myth of Apollo and Daphne, a story of passionate and thwarted love. The cantata Apollo e Dafne by Georg Friedrich Handel is followed by a choreographic interlude for four dancers, danced to the Suite No. 3 in G Major from Water Music by the same composer. In this enchanted garden, carried by dance, music and human voices, Cupid will remain magnanimous and will sting the protagonists with his loving arrow!
