Sophie Paeshuyse
Violon baroque
Sophie Paeshuyse is a Belgian baroque violinist currently based in Brussels. She learnt to play the violin at an early age following the Suzuki method and went on to study at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp with Guido de Neve.
During this time, she became interested in historically informed performance practice, and after obtaining her Master's degree in modern violin in 2022, she began her historical violin studies at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels.
She is currently doing a Master's in the violin class of Mira Glodeanu and Benoît Douchy. Sophie Paeshuyse is not only passionate about the baroque repertoire, she also has a particular interest in classical and romantic chamber music on period instruments and in discovering unknown music. She also enjoys working closely with different artistic disciplines.
