Our young festival, Prangins Baroque, is committed to creating links between promising young talent and renowned musicians, to making the rehearsal work visible and accessible to the public, and to offering all concerts and workshops free of charge.
Prangins Baroque is also very involved in disseminating our art to young people, and every year it puts on a show for children. This year's children's show features pupils from a class in Prangins. Taken from the 1st book of Ovid's Metamorphosis, the story of Apollo and Daphne is one of passionate, thwarted love... Apollo tried to use his strength to convince Daphne to love him. Faced with her repeated refusals, Apollo pursued her to the point of an embrace. In order to escape him, she transforms herself into an impenetrable laurel tree...
The themes addressed will evoke points that resonate particularly in the present day: mockery and harassment, forgiveness or revenge, and mutual consent in feelings. In a contemporary, rhythmic and expressive staging, we will build bridges to universal subjects that will enable students to make the link between an artistic work and issues that are likely to affect them.
