Sébastien Mitra

Sébastien Mitra is a Canadian harpsichordist based in Basel, Switzerland. Sébastien completed his bachelors degree at McGill University (Montreal, QC) with Hank Knox. He then completed a masters degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Menno van Delft. He is currently pursuing a masters degree in Basso Continuo at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Jörg-Andreas Bötticher. Sébastien has performed throughout Europe and North America.
Most recently, Sébastien can be heard with his ensemble in the program “Lost Paradise”, a performance based on the poetry of John Milton and John Dryden directed by Darina Ablogina. Committed to bringing diversity and representation in the field of early music, Sébastien is currently working on creating a new queer-centered Masque “Iphis and Ianthe”, an interdisciplinary performance set to be performed in 2022.
